About

I’m a multi-instrumentalist who plays electric and acoustic guitar, pedal steel, dobro, mandolin and bass. I also produce and mix music, write songs, and compose for TV.

I wrote the music and played all the instruments (except drums) on my album of original instrumentals, Just Down the Road.  I also recorded and mixed it.

I recently mixed albums for two other projects I played on: Big Mamou Deux and The TriSonics Waking Up in a New World. I also mastered the TriSonics album.

I’ve written music for numerous TV and radio commercials, and for music libraries. I’ve written music for TV shows on such networks as  CNN, the History Channel and more. My music has been placed in over 20 TV shows worldwide. Most recently, I’ve had many cues used in the show American Pickers.

As a studio player, I’ve appeared on albums, film scores, and commercials. I recently recorded pedal steel for the upcoming album Marigold by the indie rockers Pinegrove. I also played steel on the hit album Cardinal, one of the band’s previous releases.

I’ve played in Broadway and Off-Broadway pit bands (The Will Rogers Follies, Das Barbecue), and appeared on TV with country singers Sara Evans and Tanya Tucker.

I currently play in the Zydeco/Cajun/country band Big Mamou, the roots-rock band Julie’s Party, the original acoustic-instrumental group the TriSonics, and the retro country band, Lil’ Kitty and the Tomcats.

In the other part of my career, I write about music technology for publications such as Mix and Synth & Software. I blog for Yamaha Music/USA and the mixing tutorial site pureMix. I also write for MOTU, Universal Audio and Waves. Check out my writing work at my portfolio site.
