About

I’m a multi-instrumentalist who plays electric and acoustic guitar, pedal steel, dobro, mandolin and bass. I also produce and mix music, write songs, and compose for TV.

I wrote the music and played all the instruments (except drums) on my album of original instrumentals, Just Down the Road.  I also recorded and mixed it.

Recently, I've mixed albums for two other projects I played on: Big Mamou Deux and The TriSonics Waking Up in a New World. I also mastered the TriSonics album.

I’ve written music for numerous TV and radio commercials, and for music libraries. My compositions have appeared on TV shows for such networks as  CNN, the History Channel and more. I currently have music on over 20 TV shows worldwide. Most recently, I’ve had many cues used in the show American Pickers.

As a studio player, I’ve appeared on albums, film scores, and commercials. I played pedal steel on two albums by indie rockers PinegroveMarigold and Cardinal.

I played in pit bands for both Broadway and Off-Broadway shows (The Will Rogers Follies, Das Barbecue), and appeared on TV with country singers Sara Evans and Tanya Tucker.

Currently, I play in the Zydeco/Cajun/country band Big Mamou and with the roots-rock band, the Reticents.

In the other part of my career, I write about music technology for publications such as Mix  and Sound on Sound. I blog for Yamaha Music/USA and the mixing tutorial site puremix.net. I also write for MOTU, Universal Audio and Waves. Check out my writing work at my portfolio site.
