I played pedal steel, all guitars, and was the engineer and primary mixer on this 11-song album. Greg Calbi did the mastering. Click here to listen.
My latest solo album, Just Down the Road, focuses mainly on the acoustic side of my music. I play all of the instruments on the album (except drums). Although there is a pedal steel and an electric guitar on one song, "Shuffle Off to Bakersfield," the album mainly spotlights my Dobro and acoustic guitar playing, as well as some mandolin, and even a fiddle solo (on the title cut).
My Dobro influences include Jerry Douglas, Rob Ickes and Andy Hall, and I've developed some of my own stylistic aspects. For flatpicking guitar, Doc Watson, Tony Rice and Russ Barenberg are my main influences.
I recorded and mixed this album, too. Mastering was done by Scott Anthony of Storybook Sound.
